About This Site
The name "Wazee" means "Tall Pine" in Ho-Chunk language. It its deepest lake within Wisconsin with a max depth of 355ft. The lake is a nonmotorised body of water to ensure protection of the clear, blue pristine water quality. They charge a $5.00 daily dive and vehicle pass. The lake was a site of an old Jackson County iron mine. The mine was in operation from the early sixties until April, 1983.
