About This Site

The Insuma was a 35-meter-long pleasure yacht requisitioned by the Germans during World War II. Transformed into a German escort ship to hunt submarines, it left Corsica to head north. Torpedoed by the Allies in 1943, the boat ran aground in 40 meters of water. The wreck is located 900 meters from the shore between Porticciolo and Pietra-Corbara, at a depth varying from 39 to 43 meters.
