The reef is extensive, with a depth of 14 meters at the top and a small drop-off of 5 meters, reaching a total depth of 20 meters. The basin of the reef is surrounded by sand and features a highly complex wall structure, complete with crevices and small caves where a wide variety of cryptic organisms can be found.
