Located south of Providencia Island, this reef features circular patches surrounded by sandy bottoms. It is home to large coral colonies, including star corals (Montastrea, Orbicella, and Siderastrea), as well as soft corals and sponges. Large stingrays, often mistaken for manta rays, give the site its name. Schools of snapper and surgeonfish, along with a variety of other fish such as sergeant majors, angelfish, and parrotfish, can be seen moving around the coral colonies. To the east, a sand …
