Don't forget this is a working Harbour and becarful for boat traffic. There are whale bones in the centre. There are two entry points you can take to gain access to the water. Take a giant stride off the lower sections of the dock if boats are gone. Otherwise enter and exit at the slipway. You'll be able to spend lots of time at this site as its fairly shallow. Hazards to keep in mind is boat traffic and ropes in the area.
