IDC STAFF AUDIT | FUN DIVES | NIGHT DIVES – An Outstanding Experience with UDC My experience with Utila Dive Center has been nothing short of exceptional. During my time there, I had the opportunity to complete a PADI IDC Staff Audit, enjoy several fun dives, and participate in unforgettable night dives. Each of these experiences reinforced why UDC holds such a strong reputation within the professional diving community. The PADI IDC Staff Audit was, without exaggeration, one of the most valuable professional experiences I have had in my diving career. NICO and MACA generously shared their knowledge, experience, and insight throughout the entire program. Their mentorship went far beyond procedures and standards. I learned not only what it takes to deliver a TOP-quality PADI IDC in terms of structure, standards compliance, and attention to detail, but also how to manage and lead a complex, multicultural group with respect, clarity, and professionalism. NICO’s direction is exemplary—firmly grounded in extensive experience and deep knowledge of the PADI system. His leadership style reflects confidence, clarity, and professionalism at every stage of the program. MACA’s assistance throughout the IDC left no doubt about the caliber of trainers at UDC. Her detailed understanding of standards and procedures, combined with her patience and supportive attitude, elevated the entire learning environment. Together, they clearly demonstrate why the IDC at Utila Dive Center is recognized for its outstanding quality. In addition to the professional training, I had the pleasure of completing several guided fun dives with KAT, DEVIN, JENNY, ELLE, MAT, and KEITH. The level of service and personal attention I received from each of them was remarkably warm, attentive, and professional. Even on fully booked boats, they maintained strong organization, ensured individual divers felt valued, and upheld safety standards without compromise. Their ability to balance group management with personalized attention is truly impressive. Each guide created memorable underwater moments. With DEVIN, spotting frogfish and octopus was unforgettable. JENNY made the night dives extraordinary, especially witnessing the bioluminescence—an experience that will remain vivid in my memory. MAT’s night dives brought incredible encounters with octopus and lobsters. KAT’s eye for macro life and the graceful stingray during a night dive added unique highlights. KEITH’s dives with strong, enjoyable currents brought excitement and dynamic energy to the experience. There are many more stories that would easily fill pages of my logbook. I am deeply grateful for the special welcome I received from the entire team. The professionalism, warmth, and dedication shown by everyone at UDC make it very easy to recommend them without hesitation. I sincerely hope to return soon and continue building more memories both above and below the surface. Thank you, UDC, for such an enriching and inspiring experience.

I completed my initial instructor training with Utila Dive Centre and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the professionalism, structure, and quality of instruction were outstanding. The team (for my IDC, staff still at UDC include Justin, Cade, Matt and Elle) sets incredibly high standards while remaining supportive and approachable throughout the entire process, which makes the learning lots of fun. It was so much fun in fact that I decided to stay for my IDC Staff Instructor training too! Thank you Juicy, Nico and Maca for sharing your experience and for working with me!
