Top Shot Spearfishing

My husband and I had the BEST time spearfishing with Bam from Top Shot Spearfishing. Super kind, solid dude–was always patient with us in the water, gave frequent helpful and nuanced tips, and provided an exceptional experience by ensuring that all party members had more than enough opportunities to take shots at fish and felt comfortable doing so. Beyond just the epic spearfishing, the reefs you go into are just breathtaking. Would do this experience again in a heartbeat, and so excited to bring the skills we learned back to the PNW for some cold water spearfishing. Thank you again, Bam and Top Shot! Y’all are amazing.

We had a great day spearfishing with Bamm at Top Shot in Kona. 3 of use showed up with zero experience, had about a hour chat about safety and strategy, and within minutes of getting in the water, Bamm had us hunting. His instruction was clear and practical. He broke everything down step by step, from breathing and positioning to reading the fish. We found quick success. He runs a safe, professional operation and knows how to get improvement quickly. Going from not knowing what we were doing to landing a clean, successful shot happened much faster than expected. If you are new, do not hesitate. If you want to sharpen your skills, even better. Highly recommend.

Our original booking was rescheduled due to rough waters (which was absolutely the right call; safety first!), and Bamm quickly got us set up for the next day. It ended up being a private dive, which made the experience even more special. From the training and guidance to the moment we got in the water and finally stepped out, everything was truly phenomenal. Bamm was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire experience. He even sent us home with some of the fish he caught, along with perfect recipes for each species. We couldn’t have asked for more. We stayed on the Big Island for a month and did multiple dives, and this was by far the highlight of our trip. I can’t recommend booking with Top Shot Spearfishing enough. Thank you, Bamm!
