The native expedition - MOOREA

This is the excursion you don’t want to miss while in Moorea! And Tu and Vete were absolutely fantastic guide and captain. They picked us up near our Air BNB, took us across the lagoon and then through the channel opening into the deep blue. Before we went in, Tu explained exactly what we were going to do, and all the safety precautions we needed to know. In less than 15 minutes we spotted whales and after observing their behavior we geared up and jumped in. Please know you need to be a decent swimmer and decently in shape. We swam about 100 meters in the open ocean to be where the whale would potentially come up for a breath and Tu always had us in the perfect position. We saw humpback whales and pilot whales during our time together and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Tu only runs private tours so you’re in a smaller group and it’s more of an intimate experience. He’s born and raised in Moorea and respects the ocean, the whales, and his customers. You will NOT regret going with him and Vete!

What an incredible experience! This company was very respectful of giving the whales plenty of space whilst positioning us in the best spot for viewing them, we saw a baby and mumma and then after some waiting time they got us quickly in the water again to get to experience this amazing breach, so lucky! The videos don’t do it justice. Would highly recommend to do your whale watching with these guys.
