The High Dive Gili Gede Resort & PADI 5 Star Scuba Dive Centre

We stayed in the loft which had a nice view of the water. Clean, nicely furnished ( beach house feel). The staff are lovely, dive centre conveniently located on-site. The cheese burger is fantastic, especially if you're needing some comfort food. They can arrange diving and snorkelling. Thank you for the lovely stay.

An absolute gem. Beautiful beachfront villas, a relaxed laid-back vibe, and a fantastic team who make you feel instantly welcome. Great food, stunning surroundings, and it's the perfect place to switch off and enjoy Gili Gede at its best. We loved the island hopping trip and we even tried scuba diving which was just amazing. Free use of their kayaks & SUP! We’ll definitely be back!

Weirdly overpriced place. All in all it is a basic and okay accommodation, but the value for money ratio nearly felt like a rip off to us. The bungalows are small, have little stowing room and nowhere to stow your bags away. The balconies are also very narrow, you can't sit next to each other. Privacy is quite limited in the bungalows as well as on the terrace, because the whole place is so small, that you basically sit in the restaurant, when sitting on your terrace and the next bungalow is only a few steps away. When we were there, there was always something broken or just felt like its best times had already gone. The first night I had the door handle of the bathroom room door in my hand, when I wanted to open the door. The air conditioning was so loud and rusty, that we didn't want to use it, because it kept us awake. The drainage of the shower wasn't working properly and drained so slowly that you were standing in water when showering. This all didn't feel quite adequate for a price you would normally get a chique boutique hotel for on Lombok. It felt to us like someone is milking a cow and getting some money out of it, while not maintaining the place well. The food was nearly double the price than in the village and the snorkeling tours on offer were more than double compared to what locals in the village would ask. The whole place also felt slightly off to us. You find signs like "no shirt, no shoes,no problem", very western, very Australian. Gili Gede is such a small island with a strong local community and the vibes, these signs were suggesting, felt quite imposed on the local staff. The service team was sweet, but all in all we didn't feel comfortable.
