I just finished an incredible 4-day, 3-night dive trip and cannot recommend this experience enough. From start to finish, the itinerary was perfectly balanced with world-class diving and breathtaking land excursions. The Highlights: • Incredible Marine Life: We saw it all—Mantas, plenty of turtles, rays, and sharks. The biodiversity at the sites were amazing, always saw something. • Top-Tier Dive Sites: covered iconic spots including Batu Bolong, Tatawa Kecil, and the exhilarating "Cauldron". • Beyond the Water: The land visits were just as memorable. Seeing the Komodo Dragons in person was a bucket-list moment, and the stroll on Pink Beach was beautiful. We also caught a spectacular sunset at Padar Island. Even a beach cleanup as part of the trip was nice to give back and help clean up the beaches. The Experience: • Expert Leadership: A massive shoutout to our cruise director, Rian. He has over 10 years of experience navigating the Komodo area on liveaboards, and it really shows in his knowledge of the currents and sites. It’s also inspiring to see a local professional become one of the few local owners of a liveaboard operation—that passion and ownership definitely translate into the quality of the trip. • Staff & Service: The entire local crew was incredibly friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe. Dela lots of fun and energy also taking some incredible pictures and videos of the trip. • Food: I was blown away by the quality of the meals on board—every dish was amazing and exactly what we needed after a long day of diving. One of the few locally owned and run liveaboards, Rian, Dela and the team at Archipelago provided us an unforgettable experience on board Sundari when we joined them for their first ever dive expedition. The boat is new, clean, and well maintained with sufficient facilities for us to be comfortable. Nobody can resist a hot shower. Places to hang out and enjoy the nature around, sunrise or sunset, are aplenty. All 3 meals were freshly prepared and served hot. With a variety of cuisines, generous servings, and fruits, we were more than well fed. This is without mentioning the light breakfast before the first dive, and multiple snacks provided in between dives every day. We hiked Padar for sunset, visited Komodo island itself to see the creatures of this area's namesake, and pink beach to not only enjoy the water but partake in a beach clean up. These were equally rewarding activities themselves. Rian is more familiar with Komodo than I am with my own home; he draws every dive site easily from memory. All our dives were amazing and most importantly safe. Proper briefings were conducted and the dives planned in increasing difficulty over the days: but they were still evaluated to ensure the conditions commensurate with our experience level. And with Dela as the photographer, we even have some stunning pictures to share after the trip. My wife was snorkeling alone. Her experience was not neglected as the crew would determine enjoyable and safe locations for her while we went diving. Special shoutout to speedboat crew Axel and Safry for always looking out for her. The diving in Komodo is easily amongst the best in the world. When you decide to come here and want the best experience under water, on the boat, and on land, there's no better option than Sundari with Archipelago.
