Great diving experience! The instructors are knowledgeable and kept checking in on everyıne to make sure everything is OK. You can eat and drink at the dive shop during the lunch break. Well organised. There were an array of people with different levels of experience and they planned different routes for different levels. They helped whenever I needed it. I am a relatively inexperienced diver but felt really comfortable and secure. My instructor took me diving a bit longer because I had still more than enough in my tank after everyone else in the group were running out, it felt like they were really trying to make this an authentic experience rather than a tourist trap. Definitely worth it if you're into diving!
The so-called “Split Diving Experience” is not a dive center in Split Harbour, but just a travel agency. The real dive shop is actually an Independent one in Trogir – a 40-minute (30 km) drive away – something never mentioned on their …
The diving trips are not based in Split but in Trogir, which is about an hour away. Transportation to the dive center, however, was smooth and well arranged. The operation itself was organized, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The schedule is structured so that two dives take up the entire day, with departures around 10:00 and a 90-minute lunch break in between. Personally, I found the extended break to be somewhat unnecessary and a loss of valuable dive/holiday time. One point of concern was the treatment of marine life. On several occasions, I observed the dive master moving rocks and disturbing the seabed in order to catch an octopus. While they were successful, the octopus became visibly distressed, releasing ink multiple times. I felt this demonstrated a lack of respect for the marine environment. There was not much to see, would not go again.
