Booked a trip from a vendor in the hotel, me and my dad booked up to go to Tulum, to see the ruins. We also went swimming through a Cave and swimming with turtles, it was an absolute rip-off, The vendor lied to us, told us they would be an all-inclusive trip with food and alcohol included that was a lie, At lunch, we got one taco each with a bit of rice and an orange juice or bottled water, At the ancient ruins, we learnt absolutely nothing about the historic site as the guy did not bother to translate anything to us. We didn’t even get any bit of information, We felt like we was being ignored, Very unprofessional. The only part of the trip I enjoyed was swimming in the cave. Swimming with the turtles was pointless. The water was murky and you couldn’t even see anything so I didn’t even bother going in to see. walking around the ruins. Was more exhausting than what I anticipated I was expecting a walking tour, but I wasn’t expecting to walk thru the jungle and get a bit by mosquitoes constantly. nothing was clearly explained to us, What has really baffled me is that we had to pay 700 pesos turtle tax before leaving to go on the trip, and that is on top of paying the full price of the trip for two people, I don’t understand why I got charged a turtle tax I didn’t even see any turtles so I don’t understand that, based on my experience with scuba Caribe, I will not ever be booking an excursion again when I return to Mexico, it was awful
So incredibly disappointed with the jet ski rental today. This is my 10th year staying at a Riu in Playa and today we attempted to rent four jet skis. The representative told us there would not be four available until 1:30, which was fine. …
Disappointing and Unsafe Experience with Scuba Caribe Water Sports Our recent experience with Scuba Caribe Water Sports was deeply disappointing and unsafe. We went in with high expectations based on what was promised during booking, but almost everything fell short. 1. Unsafe ATVs The ATV portion of the activity was the first red flag. The vehicles were poorly maintained and constantly malfunctioning. My friend’s ATV had a serious issue with its brakes—they weren’t working at all. Despite this obvious safety risk, the guide insisted she use it anyway. Understandably, she refused because of how dangerous it was. Instead of addressing the issue or offering a replacement, the guide seemed dismissive and unconcerned about our safety. 2. Pressure Instead of Support The lack of professionalism continued during the ziplining and cenote jump. My friend was nervous about ziplining, but instead of providing reassurance or guidance, the guide kept pressuring her to go. This attitude showed zero empathy or concern for the comfort of the participants. The situation was even worse during the cenote jump. The guide was extremely impatient and kept rushing everyone, even though it was clear that many people, including us, were scared. There was no effort to create a safe, supportive, or enjoyable experience—just constant pressure to hurry up and jump. It felt like we were being treated as numbers on a schedule rather than individuals trying to enjoy the activity. 3. False Promises at Booking The problems started even before the activities. When we booked the excursion with Scuba Caribe, the agent sold us a dream that sounded amazing: great food, thrilling activities, and an overall unforgettable experience. However, the reality was the complete opposite. The food was disappointing, and the activities didn’t match what was advertised. Everything felt rushed and poorly organized, leaving us feeling misled and cheated. Overall This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had on a guided excursion. The lack of safety, professionalism, and honesty made it an ordeal rather than an enjoyable day. We expected a fun, safe, and memorable adventure, but we ended up with frustration, stress, and regret. I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with Scuba Caribe Water Sports to think twice and look for more reliable and professional options.
