Scuba Kinabalu Dive Station

I completed my Open Water Diving course here with the guide from Saffwan, Surbyien and his team, who are all interesting and amazing people. From novice who didn’t think we could breathe underwater :)) to a first-time certified diver within 3 days, I was delighted by what the training centre had to offer.

Surby was an incredible instructor from start to finish! I was visiting Malaysia and wanted to get my Open Water Diver certification. Chat gpt recommend him and I definitely see why! Communication was very good prior to meeting. We used what’s app to message. He was flexible with my vacation schedule and we were able to find a time that worked for us both and was safe for me to fly out. He offered to meet in person the day before diving to discuss the plan and take care of paperwork so we could focus on diving the day of. The day of the dive, despite the beautiful weather, the water was quite murky, possibly due to the typhoon the week before. I was not use to diving in those conditions. He was patient was me and helped me stay calm. Ultimately, I was able to get my certification. It was awesome!

Had the best time diving with Surbiyen! Super patient, professional, and made me feel completely safe underwater. I struggle clearing my mask underwater, he was so incredibly patient. Plus, the photos turned out amazing — such an eye for capturing the moment. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide and photographer
