Absolutely recommended! My husband and I didn't want to take just any run-of-the-mill course, so CMAS and SSI were the options. However, it wasn't easy to find a suitable dive center on the south side of Crete. ScubaDivingCrete in Plakias is still relatively new, so it's probably not well advertised. Jannis empathetically addresses the strengths and weaknesses of each dive buddy/student and meets them where they are. This is exactly what you expect from a dive instructor, but here it's also conveyed with a lot of fun. I'm still a complete beginner myself, but Jannis's one-on-one instruction helped me overcome a lot of anxiety and give me more confidence. So much so that I was able to complete my basic training with him. Even our teenage daughters suddenly wanted to learn to dive. Simply brilliant!
