Signed up the Technical SCUBA Buoyancy Workshop for Sidemount, with Qoshki Dive Team, led by Faza and Zaidah. Their expertise & professionalism shone throughout, theory and practical sessions were concise. Helped me improve my buoyancy skills significantly. Highly recommend this workshop for divers looking to enhance their buoyancy!

I arranged to complete a TDI sidemount course with Qoshki Dive in October 2022 and I was blown away by the high level of service, competency, and commitment! I initially arranged a discover sidemount session with Faza in Sept' 22 as I was unsure if sidemount diving was for me. The session was 2.5 hours long, during which Faza went through: 1) equipment, 2) how to configure your cylinders for sidemount diving, 3) key differences between back- and sidemount in terms of gas management and diving techniques, and 4) primary sidemount skills in the pool. Throughout the session he answered all of my technical and non-technical questions with patience, explaining key concepts and theory concisely and in-depth. As a dive professionally (I am a dive master), I find this quality sets apart 'good' instructors from 'Great' instructors! And I can confidently say Faza is a GREAT instructor! At the end of the session, I knew I wanted to do the full sidemount course with Faza! A week before the start of my course, I invested in a full set of sidemount diving equipment (2 regs, bcds, tank accessories etc.). Faza provided advice on what to buy and spent 2 hours with me, prior to the pool session, configuring the equipment to my size - this was important for not only good trim in the water, but also to educate me on how to configure sidemount equipment in the future (warning - its very different to back mount!). In the pool, Faza was thorough in his briefings and clear in his underwater skills demonstrations. He was patient when certain skills took longer for me to perform, and adapted the skills if I found certain tasks difficult. He even taught me additional skills (as a bonus). The pool session lasts 2 days and is recorded. The recordings are used at the end of each day to discuss skills you performed well, areas you can improve on, and general tips for sidemount diving. I found this service to be the best thing about taking the course with Faza - he really wants to help you become a great sidemount diver! Once the pools session was complete, we headed off to the island (Tioman). Faza arranged everything! The accommodation and the DC was nice - friendly people, chilled vibe. The open water dives consisted of practicing skills and fun diving, similar to your PADI/SSI/SDI open water dive course. However, during and between the dives, Faza lays the foundation for progressing on to technical diving. He taught me technical diving hand signals, discussed basic technical diving decompression procedures and tables, and contingency planning. We would also go through videos taken during the dive and provide feedback on my diving technique. I can honestly say that this was one of the most fulfilling diving course I have taken in a very long time, and a great part of that is down to Faza! I highly recommend taking your sidemount (as well as recreational or technical) diving course with him and his team at Qoshki Dive! I will certainly come back next year for my technical diving certifications!!
