I thought I knew Cozumel diving until I dove with Pontebuzo and now I need to book another trip because I realize I've only scrstched the surface. I'll add that I am not an expert diver, mediocare at best. I initially booked my diving through the resort I was in. But a friend recommended Pontebuzo, so I went on a 2 tank dive and had one of the best dive experiences to date.⁸ *what I wish I knew before going to Cozumel Not all diving companies are the same. The 15-minutes south of downtowa is 100% worth it. All of the dive sites are South. Plan to book 3 dives ahead of time and go from there
Luis is the best! We have been diving with him multiple times and he is amazing. All three of our children have gotten PADI certified with him and it is so much better than doing your check out dives in a lake in the states. They are conscientious and attentive with kids and also base the dives off of the ability of the divers.
I can highly recommend diving with Louis and Rayes at Pontebuzo Dive Center in Cozumel. I did my PADI Open Water certification with them and had a fantastic experience. From the beginning, I felt safe, well guided, and very comfortable underwater. The instructors are professional, patient, and friendly, making the course perfect for beginners. During the training, I got to do open water dives at Palancar Reef and Valle de los Cedros, both absolutely beautiful dive sites with amazing visibility and marine life. The whole team is welcoming and well organized, the equipment is in great condition, and the reefs of Cozumel are stunning. If you’re looking for PADI certification or great scuba diving in Cozumel, I’d definitely dive with Pontebuzo Dive Center again 🤿🌊
