FOR GREAT PEOPLE, DIVE HERE! This dive shop is phenomenal. I traveled solo and immediately found community here. I completed my AOW and lionfish tracker here. The dive masters/instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and helpful (shoutout Denni and Ruben!). They truly care about and get to know everyone they dive with and want you to not only continue diving, but continue getting better. Their equipment for rent is good quality and their dive sites were great. Small number of divers per dive master allowed you to really get to know who you’re diving with. Already planning my next trip! Also- I get super seasick and they were always there to help me with gear and prepared with water, fruit, and Dramamine!

Five Stars for Pocna Dive Center, Isla Mujeres This is my fifth-year diving with Pocna Dive Center, and there’s simply no place in Mexico I’d rather be underwater. First, the location: Pocna sits right on the property of Nuli Hostel—sun, sand, a great pool, and an easy, relaxed vibe that sets the tone for the whole experience. Rolling out of your room and into the dive centre is a luxury in itself. Second, the dive sites: Isla Mujeres is surrounded by some amazing diving. The MUSA Underwater Museum, Machones Reef, and Jardines are beautiful, shallow sites perfect for every level of diver. For those who want a little more adventure, C55, Chidel and Ultra Freeze, and others—offer fantastic, advanced dives. Marine life is everywhere: Nurse Sharks, Loggerhead Turtles, Eagle Rays, Porcupine Puffers, Morays, Triggerfish, Damsels, Parrotfish, Scorpionfish, and yes, the occasional Lionfish. What always amazes me is the abundance of Conch—proof that Mexico’s conservation efforts are working. But above everything else, it’s the people who make Pocna exceptional: From the moment you arrive, Vanessa, Guille, and Yami (with her unforgettable smile) make check in effortless. Captain Beto runs a safe, calm, confident boat—exactly what you want before every dive. The dive team is outstanding: • Tyto, a marine biologist, brings the ocean to life with his knowledge • Denni, cool and steady, always on top of every detail • Ruben, the Mexican Pirate and undisputed King of Cool • Nefi, young, fun, and always ready to help with gear • Lalo, my wife’s favourite—easygoing, patient, and incredibly helpful Behind the scenes, Emily keeps the whole operation running smoothly, and Tracy is always there with answers, stories, and the passion of someone who has built something truly special. Pocna Dive Center isn’t just a dive shop—it’s a community, a family, and a place that keeps drawing me back year after year. If you’re coming to Isla Mujeres and want world class diving with genuinely wonderful people, this is the place.

Our experience at PocNa Dive Center was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, every part of our dive adventure exceeded expectations. Our instructor Rubén was tough but incredibly knowledgeable, pushing us just enough to grow, while always prioritizing safety. By the end of the dives, we felt significantly more confident in our skills, which is a testament to his expert teaching. The dives themselves were breathtaking. We explored Musa, Jardines, and Manchones Grande, each site showcasing stunning coral reefs teeming with vibrant marine life. We even had a close encounter with a barracuda, but our instructor handled it perfectly, keeping us safe while letting us experience the thrill of the moment. Beyond the dives, the entire team made us feel like part of the PocNa family. From the friendly front desk staff to the attentive dive masters and skilled boat captains, everyone was welcoming, professional, and genuinely passionate about diving. Whether you’re a beginner looking to gain confidence or an experienced diver seeking incredible underwater adventures, PocNa Dive Center is the place to go.
