4.9 · 370 reviewsI did both the OW and AOW courses. 1. The instructor was incredibly professional. I never felt left out. The briefing before each dive included all the necessary information and knowledge. It was a pleasure, culminating in obtaining my license. Depending on the number of participants, a one-to-one course is possible. 2. The organization was excellent. The boat was large enough for everyone, and the equipment wasn't cramped between your legs or in the way. The number of dive masters was appropriate for the number of people on the boat, usually 5-10. We didn't waste time traveling; upon arrival at the dive site, you could begin your adventure almost immediately. The crew often took care of your equipment. I didn't mind if I sometimes had to change tanks and prepare the equipment myself. 3. Small extras like a towel, sweet snacks, or a beer after the dive were very helpful throughout the day. Not all dive centers offer this. Lunch was very good; there was always plenty of food, and it was also very tasty. There was also plenty of fruit. 4. Minor things that could be improved: relatively late notification of changes for the next day. Some of the equipment shows signs of use, minor abrasions, or small cuts. However, I haven't encountered any problems with replacement or fit. There are always additional, spare diving items on the boat. You'll also receive some photos from the dive afterward.

I did a daytrip with Pax Dive Center and it was really cool. We did 3 dives and went to 2 wrecks and one Reef. The guides were really attentive and I really enjoyed the day. The equipment is good and the stuff helps with everything. The lunch was really delicious. Thanks for the nice experience.

I am a big proponent of diving safely, so I am unapologetically picky with high standards when it comes to choosing a dive shop. After all, if you're a shop and you don't pay attention to the small details, how can you let other people entrust you with their lives underwater when something goes wrong? That being said, I would fully recommend Pax Dive (Boxter Dive) as the best and most trustworthy dive shop in Coron. I was very impressed by the experience and they have earned their 5 star ratings for good reason! Safety/Ease: I had some concerns since I never penetrated a wreck before. The owner, Mick, is a technical diver and helped put me at ease very quickly by answering my questions on safety and depth inside the wrecks. I also wanted to dive Cathedral Cave, which he easily arranged for the next day. The DMs Tolits and Luis were also very professional, with clear safety briefings on the path we would take and what to expect inside. Gear: The gear is well maintained and attended to. The little touches, such as the retractable lanyard on the BCD and the way that the SPG is clipped on to secure it, showed just how much they pay attention to those little details that help make the dive experience better and ultimately safer. Space: The shop is very clean, modern, and elegant. The receptionist Joanne was very friendly and helpful in getting me set up for the next day. Also, Mick owns a dive bar next door that has great drinks and Korean food— Alicia and Emery behind the counter are awesome! The dive boat is also very spacious, perfect for the journey out to some of the farther locations. Value: I did two days of diving, one with wrecks and another with Cathedral Cave/Barracuda Lake. For 3 dives a day, 5500 pesos (+1000 extra to go out to Cathedral) is a ridiculously good deal. That price also includes complementary photos, dry towel, rental gear, a massive Korean lunch (omg seriously the best lunch I've ever had on a dive boat), and even a free beer after the dives are done. I'd give this place 50⭐ if possible. Thank you to all the staff of Pax Dive & Bar (+Jay/Victory) for your care and amazing experience! I'm looking forward to the next time I can dive with you guys in Coron 🌊🐠🙏
