While my family was unloading belongings in a public road to an adjacent resort, a very entitled and rude korean man was telling my family to leave (this included a 68 year old and an infant - bit strange because I thought that particular nation was always respectful of the elderly) due to the car being in front of the resort. Mind you, this was early in the morning with no traffic or activity in the area, for a road that we had to pay the tourism office a small fee to enter. I cannot say much about the facilities or food - looked ok from the outside. But this man ruined it. Edit / Clarification: This incident happened early in the morning (around 5–7am) on a shared public access road used by multiple resorts (our resort is located behind this one and uses the same frontage). The car was never unattended — we were actively unloading belongings for our stay, including for an elderly family member and an infant, which required multiple trips up a long staircase. There was no intent to leave the vehicle parked — we were in live unloading mode. We moved once informed. The entrance was not blocked, and there were no active resort operations affected at that hour, and no operations to speak of could have possibly been affected by the position of the vehicle, and we were mindful of that. Local government and tourism authorities later clarified the situation: the access road is public/common space, and the resort frontage is wide enough to accommodate several vehicles simultaneously. Our vehicle was positioned in front of the staircase leading to the resort we were staying at. There were no disruptions to any operations. What was off-putting was not only being asked to move, it was that I was not approached directly, and my family was instead told off. Lastly, the dynamics in Manila are very different from early mornings along the baywalk in Sabang, Puerto Galera. Pre-emptively telling guests off based on an imagined disruption reflects a territorial, Karen-like management attitude that feels out of place in a quiet resort town setting. Posting this to add proper context.

This is a response to the review posted below. I am a guest at the resort, and I watched the entire process of you unloading your belongings from the resort’s outdoor dining area. Your vehicle was parked there for approximately 30 minutes. Even after I finished my meal, your car was still in the same spot. After unloading everything, it appeared that you were going to leave your car parked in that exact position, blocking the resort’s main entrance. From what I saw, the resort operator came over quickly to ask you to move the vehicle. It did not seem aggressive or rude. It looked like a simple request to move the car a few meters back so the entrance would not be blocked. As you mentioned, if it was early in the morning and there were no cars or people around, then why choose to stop and block the entrance of a resort you were not even staying at, when there was plenty of space along the public road? 😂😂 As a guest, I felt it was unfair to see a misleading statement posted in a public review where anyone can read it, so I wanted to comment. You also mentioned Koreans and respect for the elderly. In my experience, Koreans try to be polite not only to elderly people but to everyone. The fact that no one confronted you for a long time, even while your vehicle was blocking the resort’s entrance and affecting operations, shows that. If you tried to block the entrance of a hotel in Manila in the same way, you probably know an issue would arise within minutes.
