Papua Explorers Dive Resort

I am not someone who is naturally drawn to all-inclusive or luxury resorts. I am perfectly comfortable camping on a beach, sleeping under the stars, or staying in a simple yurt if it puts me closer to nature and the experience itself. Because of that, I tend to be skeptical of high-end resorts and the expectations that often come with them. That said, Papua Explorers stands apart from anything I have experienced before. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that this place operates on an entirely different level. The resort strikes a rare balance—comfortable without being pretentious, refined without losing its connection to the surrounding environment. Everything feels intentional, thoughtfully designed, and purpose-built to enhance the experience rather than distract from it. The staff and management deserve special recognition. Every interaction felt genuine and personal, not transactional. Whether it was the front-of-house team, the dive center crew, the boat operators, or the kitchen staff, everyone demonstrated professionalism, pride in their work, and a clear commitment to guest experience. It was evident that attention to detail is not a slogan here—it is a deeply ingrained culture. The dive operation itself was exceptional. The crew was organized, safety-focused, and highly knowledgeable, yet relaxed and approachable. Boat handling, briefings, and logistics ran smoothly without feeling rushed or overly rigid. Meals were consistently excellent—fresh, well-prepared, and clearly planned with care for both divers’ schedules and dietary needs. What impressed me most was how seamlessly everything worked together. There was no weak link. Each role supported the others, creating an experience that felt effortless from the guest perspective. That level of coordination does not happen by accident—it reflects strong leadership and a shared philosophy across the entire team. In short, this was an absolutely amazing stay—one that exceeded expectations in every meaningful way. Papua Explorers managed to deliver comfort, adventure, professionalism, and authenticity all at once, without compromising any of them. I would return without hesitation, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking an unforgettable Raja Ampat experience.

We had such a great time at Papua Explorers! Everyone always had a smile to share: from the gardeners, the restaurant staff, the butlers, the SEA center personel to the dive masters, captains and management team. Diving there was lovely and the team made sure to give everyone the opportunity to dive different sites everytime to experience the diversity Raja Ampat has to offer whether corals, fishes, currents vs calm, big stuff as well as small stuff... The rooms are very spacious and provided everything we could want for a diving/relaxing trip. We enjoyed the food and thought they had the best bartender! Would absolutely love to stay there again, the organization to get you to the resort is spotless and the place make it worth the long hours spent in transit to get there! ❤️

Absolutely magical dive resort in Raja Ampat. We wish we would've stayed 10-14 days instead of 7. The dive center is extremely well run - 3-4 divers per dive guide, great rental options, amazing dive sites 25-30 minutes from the resort, all guides were excellent, knowledgeable, and safe. The resort itself was extremely comfortable and went above our expectations - individual rooms/houses with a fantastic porch over the water and filtered water jug in the room, house reef snorkeling was amazing, many different foods offered and all cooked fresh, staff all very friendly and helpful. Papua Explorers also pays attention to little details with very nice welcome music and real coconut drinks upon arrival, personalized stainless steel water bottles, and paying attention to your every need. Overall the resort, the biodiversity, marine life, were all top notch. Highly highly recommend!
