Papiton Dive - Komodo Dive Center

Fantastic first scuba diving experience with Papiton. Could not have asked for a better introduction to diving. The team are professional and friendly and explained our options ahead of us booking Discover Scuba Diving. Our instructor Karim talked us through all the basics of diving, equipment and skills ahead of the dives on the day and put us at ease. Karim was excellent at keeping me calm for my first time diving and made sure that I enjoyed the dives while keeping safe and comfortable under the water. Excellent guide and videographer with the GoPro! We went to some excellent spots in Komodo national park where we saw lots of turtles, mantas and beautiful fish and coral. The boat we travelled on was also comfortable with good food and competent and friendly crew. I would definitely recommend Papiton, especially if it is your first time scuba diving. Thank you for a really special experience!

I stumbled into the Papiton office by chance after going to a few other dive shops. The staff were all super nice and really helpful. I initially booked the open water certification. Before I had completed it I knew it was time to do my advanced certification. After speaking with many of the other divers on the boat I was told this was one of the best locations in the entire world. My instructor Karim was absolutely fantastic with over 5000 dives under his belt. He is an absolute wizard on all things diving.

I completed my Divemaster training with Papiton. For six weeks i had the privilege of being part of the Papiton family — and that’s exactly how it felt from day one. Every single day on the Papiton boat was an absolute highlight. The boat has a beautiful lounge area and a very spacious dive deck where you can gear up comfortably before each dive. The chef prepares outstanding meals for everyone on board, the crew takes care of all the equipment and swaps tanks after every dive, and the dive guides know the currents and the underwater world inside out. Everything is simply perfect. And last but definitely not least: our two instructors, Karim and Delson, with whom we spent most of our training time. Both are incredibly attentive and experienced divers who always bring joy to their work. The way they teach courses, guide dives, and stay calm even in challenging situations has impressed and inspired me again and again over the past weeks. A huge thank you to the entire crew — and especially to Delson and Karim. You made the past six weeks truly special and unforgettable. We’ll be back ❤️
