Every time I visit the Big Island, I book my dive trips with Pacific Rim Divers, and the experience is always fabulous. The boat accommodates 6-8 divers, ensuring a personalized and comfortable experience. Kai, the new owner, is just as fantastic as the previous owners, Patriz and Frank. The PRD dive masters are knowledgeable and experienced, prioritizing safety and serious diving. With PRD, I’ve encountered incredible marine life, including white tip sharks, white mouth eels, monk seals, spotted eagle rays, and even a hammerhead shark. On a recent dive, Alexis spotted a female hammerhead with a scalloped nose and quickly alerted us. Every diver in the group witnessed the magnificent shark gliding overhead in just 15 feet of water before it swam off into the deep. The excitement continued as we discussed the experience all the way back to the harbor. Another great aspect of PRD is the ample dive time they provide, allowing you to take long dives as long as you surface with minimum pressure reserves (of 700 lbs). The dive masters meticulously care for your equipment, ensuring everything is correct and functioning properly. They even assist older divers like me with removing weights or BCDs and with help to get them back onto the boat. Pacific Rim Divers is my go-to dive company on the Big Island for two-tank day dives. The experience is priceless, the prices are reasonable, and they offer a great selection of rental gear.
This is not your average dive boat service for tourists. These are wonderful people who take care of their customers, most of whom are locals. …
My friend and I had a great morning with Pacific Rim Divers. There was a swell moving in and they stayed very communicative leading up to the day. We went out with Kai and Alexia who were both great guides and serious about marine life of all sizes. I appreciated that they didn't handhold the more experienced divers. I ALSO appreciated the fresh baked brownies on the boat. Great operation
