Ocean Junkies Dive Centre

We had a wonderful dive, smoothly organised from start to finish. Our guide, Nahid, was a star; very knowledgeable and friendly. We are very grateful to him! I contacted most centres on the island with a two days’ notice, but only Ocean Junkies accepted our last-minute booking. Also, on a Friday, during Ramadan! They went as far as caring to take just the two of us on a private dive to accommodate our request to see the sharks, without charging more than the usual prices in the area packing 10+ people. This was very much appreciated!! As for the Shark Tank site, the island reclamation works finished at the end of January, and since then the sharks have slowly begun to return. Visibility is still under 10 metres, and you generally need to reach depths of around 20–30 metres to see them. The diving centre, had already advised us beforehand about the depth and visibility situation and the fact that sightings are not guaranteed. Transparency above all! We decided to do one dive only, as we got first time lucky, the experience was fantastic, with some thrilling pelagic encounters, including a tiger shark, plenty of sicklefin lemon sharks, and lots of rays — including round ribbontail rays and cowtail stingrays. Apparently, most of the action happens in the early morning. There are also 4 regular hammerheads, bulls etc that we didn't see but that's for another time. We arrived a bit later in the day, but it was still amazing! We were given the option to do more dives but we were satisfied and a bit tired so we passed. Extra tanks were ready for us just in case we wanted to go for a second dive, with the option to decide how we wanted to proceed on the boat after the first dive.🦈 That's what I call flexibility! P.S.: Do book in advance as last-minute requests might not be honoured!

Went diving with Yaya for 2 days and loved everything!! the boat was very spacious and clean, sailing to the dive sites smooth even with the very windy conditions, Yaya was super friendly, relaxed and informative, was a real pleasure! absolutely recommend to use Ocean Junkies and if we come back, would be knocking on the door again!

Can only recommend the OceanJunkies. I dived 8 times with Nahid as a guide and had a great time. There was a good explanation of the dive plan and the area. As it is sometimes, on one dive everything was there with hammerhead and tiger shark and the next day there is not much going on.
