Should you do it while you’re in Moalboal? Def, something good to see and experience, at least for the sardines and turtles. Was the snorkeling around the area beautiful? NO. At this point, it looks like a coral graveyard. It’s overcrowded. Is it proper how they handle the turtles? NO. It’s sooo overcrowded and uncontrolled at some point I think it’s borderline animal cruelty already, at least towards the turtles. They can’t even eat properly. Tour guides crowd them, they call people to hover around the turtle. At some point, I was soo worried that somebody would actually step on the turtles. Government should intervene with all these tours in the area or at a certain point turtles won’t come here anymore, this is not sustainable tourism. Would I do it again? NO. Twas nice to see all those, but it’s worrisome how they handle these creatures. In any case. Quick tip, tours should ONLY cost 300-400 pesos, if people offers you around 800-1000 “per pax,” runaway. Actually, if you have proper gears and you can swim you can just go to the sea directly. Tour guide is only for say, those who do not know how to swim and needs gears (and life vests.)
