Beautiful, an absolute gem! Found this place a little bit by chance, and was really amazed. The view is absolutely gorgeous and there was no single tourist. Can only recommend!

View is very nice, it is very hard to get to tho. You have to go behind the temple into some bushes to get there, we couldn’t get to the absolute top because the bushes were too thick. Also the last km of road is very bad. Overall still very nice though. You can see some mantas but not very clear

I came here on a snorkelling trip and yes we did see manta rays. However, there were hundreds of snorkellers in one spot plus many divers below. I have to say that although I had been so excited to see manta rays, I came out of the experience more disappointed and upset than joyous. Firstly, the sheer number of people was unsafe. There are strong currents here and you are in large groups of up to 20 people. There is no way your guide can keep track of everyone. Furthermore, the lack of respect shown for these incredible creatures was shocking to see. As demonstrated in the video I have attached, everyone is scrambling to dive down to have a picture with a manta ray. This was clearly causing distress to the rays who were unable to use this cleaning station as intended. It's also unnecessary as the mantas are so close and so huge you can see them easily by floating on the surface out of the way. I think it's extremely cruel and regulations by the government need to be put in place to regulate many areas around Nusa Penida. Unfortunately, guides are incentivised to give their customers whatever experience they desire without any rules in place and at any cost to the creatures we are observing. I think with fewer boats and stricter rules to snorkellers, this would be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. I would NOT recommend going on a snorkelling trip if you have any care for animals until the situation improves.
