From the moment we arrived at Lembeh Resort, we were struck by its stunning setting. The bungalows are beautifully nestled into the jungle, creating a serene and natural atmosphere. Down by the water, an array of boats stood ready to whisk divers out to explore the world-famous Lembeh Strait, renowned for its rare critters, juvenile marine life, and fascinatingly odd organisms. The central dining area quickly became a favorite gathering spot. Every meal was outstanding—delicious, fresh, and varied. The staff were beyond exceptional, making us feel not just welcomed but truly cared for. A special mention goes to Fandy, who looked after us with genuine warmth and attention. Helen, another member of the team, gave my wife a memorable village tour where she was able to experience the local education system, meet children and teachers, and gain insight into the community—an experience she cherished deeply. For diving, I had the privilege of doing 4 nitrox dives with Opo K. Simply put, he is the most enthusiastic, skilled, and knowledgeable dive guide I’ve ever encountered. His ability to spot and identify the tiniest creatures on the seabed was astounding, and he made every dive feel like an adventure. Our night dive was unforgettable—seeing microscopic larvae and nocturnal marine life was exhilarating. On one of our dives, we came across a reef system so vibrant, teeming with soft corals and marine life, that it left me completely in awe and near tears. Beyond the diving, the spa services were superb. The treatments in the bespoke spa villa were the perfect way to unwind after a day in the water. Meals throughout our stay were consistently excellent, with a mix of brunch-style service and evenings where we could choose from thoughtfully prepared dinner menus. What truly sets Lembeh Resort apart is its people. From the front-of-house team to the dive center, housekeeping, and food service staff, every single person went above and beyond to ensure our stay was extraordinary. They didn’t just make us feel at home—they made us feel like family. Lembeh Resort is a once-in-a-lifetime destination, and for divers, it is absolutely a must-visit spot in the world. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This charming small scale resort offers a tranquil atmosphere, making it feels like a home. The warmth, smiles, and thoughtfulness of their staff like Jacksen, Berty and crew, contribute greatly to the experience. The food is delightful, and needless to say, the dive sites for macro critters are simply amazing!!! Credits to our eagle eyed dive guides - Joni, Oksin & Gigs!

Made a last minute change of plans to stop here and see the critters of Lembeh as a snorkeler only for two nights— and no regrets. Still spearheaded by the second (?) generation of the Batuna diving family, it’s awesome to see this established resort taking on a new energy including brand new rooms that make the experience even more special. I stayed in a renovated hillside cottage furthest up the hill and though it was a bit of a climb to get up and down there, it was *100%* worth it for the serenity, beautiful room and to watch the kingfisher birds flying in and out of their nest. There are currently some renovations going on in the resort but they are really considerate about it and you can always ask them to do less noisy work if you’re not out on the water / want to rest (in fact management even proactively offered this option, which is so thoughtful). Also really enjoyed the opportunities to speak with the team and other guests! Amazing that the staff can remember you by name too. The spa is also new and the strong massage is sweet relief for sore muscles. Needless to say the snorkeling was great too and though the dive Center managed my expectations about maybe not seeing much in the muck, we saw LOADS of critters. My guide Pak Nadri was eagle-eyed about spotting even the tiniest shrimps and nudibranches. (Quite honestly the plastic impact is quite sad but it’s also a sobering reminder that we all need to play our part to help the environment.) All in all though, highly recommended if you want to enjoy the unique creatures of Lembeh, with creature comforts too. thank you for a lovely stay.
