Lekker Gezellig

Diving Review Extremely convenient and easy, the resort had its own jetty where we'll head out to dive so getting to the boat everyday was a breeze (you will need to take a 1-2 min walk inside a mangrove but that was a nice experience in itself) Lekker is also just 5 to 10 mins away from Bunaken National Park. Resort owner (Chang Li) was quick and reliable when it came to organising the dives, always felt very at ease, any questions and concerns were quickly addressed by Chang. Our Dive Guide (Jimmy) was also amazing! very chill, easy going and super experienced. Had a wonderful time diving. Overall diving was relaxing and beautiful. Accoms review Accoms were true to photos. A very cozy and laid back resort, it’s really a place you go to when you wanna get away from the hustle and bustle of a city. We stayed in bungalow 5, which was the largest. It was comfortable and met all your needs. I would say the only potential issues are that there would be random insects / the odd lizard appearing in the room, as well as the inconsistent water pressure. However, Lekker is a resort that prides its experience to be slightly more rugged and the entire experience allows you to be nearer to nature than city life, so expect that. Water issues were also consistently managed and handled by the team so I wasn’t too fussed by it at all. Food was good, they always serve rice, a veg, a meat, and some noodles. Unless you shy away from carbs, I’m sure it’ll be more than enough to satisfy your hunger. They do not have a fridge in the room but they have a common fridge that they were more than happy to let us store our beers, milk, yogurt etc. Lastly, how good the location is is entirely dependent on what kind of experience you want. Personally loved that it was further away from the city and in the ‘middle of nowhere’.

Decent resort. The room was comfortable. Food was good - no choice, but what they provided was tasty and the kind of food we expected. Unfortunately the bar was not stocked - no soft drinks, no beer. We asked for a drink 3 times - first time the answer was "no, tomorrow ". The next day it was "maybe later" and it was only when we said we would go ourselves that they got some. Another guest sent a message to the owner which seemed to be the only way to get a soft drink! The only other problem was music from a neighbouring property at night - but not much Lekker Gezellig can do about that. Very little to do if you are not diving (snorkeling from the property wasn't good) but it is a very relaxing environment.

This is 'real' 5 Star treatment, unlike the Luley staff - these guys know how to treat guests. They offered us airport pickup/dropoff, they even insisted they pick us up from our last hotel to theirs, home meals prepared every day, a spacious boat for our scuba dives eith nice crew, our hostess (Grace), picked up some far away medication for my gf, incredible room (best shower by the way!). They provided our room with it's own router, were always asked if everything's good with our stay. Our divemaster; Jimmy was also very professional along with the rest of the boat crew and staff. ... The only issue is the location. It's in the middle of nowhere. Whilst they can arrange grabs for you etc, just be aware. That's all but I'm telling you, if you're here gor the diving... Get ready for an army of turtles... It's incredible.
