I've had this review pending since our stay in April 2025, but I haven't had the time to do it until now. I'd like to start by saying that the Kuda Laut Boutique Resort has an unbeatable location on Siladen Island, facing the best beach and the most accessible section of that wonderful reef for snorkeling. I made the mistake of booking a room in the main building, which I regretted as soon as I arrived because the room was very small, enclosed, and in the middle of a hallway that leads to two other rooms. Unfortunately, we coincided with other very rude guests from Australia who, despite our requests to the hotel management, were constantly walking back and forth, making the whole room vibrate; it was truly impossible to rest. Later, the management kindly transferred us to a bungalow, which completely changed our initial perception of the hotel for the better. My recommendation is that those three rooms in the main building be combined and converted into a single family suite that can be enjoyed by the same group of people without disturbing others guests. The resort had the thoughtful touch of making me a birthday cake, which I greatly appreciated. Breakfast and food in general weren't excellent, but they were just adequate; I think they could improve there. I recommend taking the trip to the coral wall on the island across the way, it's otherworldly, I think it's called Pangalisan. I would definitely return, but to a bungalow.

When it comes to reviews, it always depends on what level of comfort, service, and overall standards the reviewer is used to. Obviously, the reviews here are written by people who are only used to a very low standard of hotels. The 4.8 rating is simply misleading. The photos on the website simply don’t reflect the resort’s real condition at all. Long story short: the Kuda Laut Resort is in serious need of renovation, very blandly and carelessly furnished, and the food is average at best—often below average. The same goes for the rooms. When you arrive, the first thing you see is a beach covered with white sandbags, presumably to counter erosion. It looks like a construction site. The staff are friendly, but the service is basically nonexistent. The diving—yes, that’s beautiful in this area. If you want to see what a truly top hotel with excellent service and outstanding food looks like, you can experience it just one island over at Bunaken Oasis: a genuine paradise, meeting all international standards on the highest level.

The location is perfect by the water, the staff is friendly but the food is terrible: greasy, too spicy, no veggies, no salad, no fresh fish, mayo on every toast. Obviously the former great cook has left and the replacement is awful. No kayaks or canoes either. 29€ per pax one way for the cross over (5minutes) to the shore!! Way too expensive for the service provided.
