I recently completed the first level of freediving with IronLung, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The school is truly exceptional. Giannis and Marialena are both incredibly well-trained and knowledgeable, and they present all the information in a clear, engaging, and supportive way. Although I came in with 10 years of spearfishing experience, I still found the course to be extremely valuable, especially when it came to safety and technical diving skills. I learned a lot, and it has already made a big difference in how I dive. Whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience, I wholeheartedly recommend IronLung to anyone interested in freediving.

Together with Giannis I experienced the most challenging and beautiful experience in open waters for AIDA level 2. With patience, calmness and attention to details, he knew how to guide my uncertain steps and look for effective methods to overcome some mental or physical barriers. The clear theoretical explanations were doubled by easy-to-understand practical methods about relaxation and technical skills. I became much friendlier with the sea, the initial stress disappeared and I started to accumulate beautiful experiences. Thank you very much Giannis for the great freediving experience in that divine bay. I will return as soon as possible to continue even further on this passionate path of freediving.

My AIDA 3 certification course in Athens was truly exceptional. I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the top instructors in the freediving community, and Giannis truly stands out. His ability to explain complex techniques in a way that’s easy to understand and remember is remarkable. I had heard about him from a Swiss freediver who spoke very highly of his teaching, and now I completely understand why. He teaches with incredible patience and no ego, creating a comfortable learning environment. My days was structured, detailed, and focused. Every session had purpose. Beyond just improving my skills, I came away with a deeper understanding of the why behind everything we do in freediving. The location is perfect…warm, clear water, and a bar right nearby for a coffee or drink after your dive. If you’re thinking about getting certified or just want to try freediving, Giannis is the person to go to.
