Re: the Apnea and Surf Survival class: As a 69-year-old surfer, I wish I had taken this class 20 years ago when I had just begun surfing and kiting. I would’ve felt much less anxiety and would’ve been much more prepared for potentially life-threatening situations in the water. It’s a terrific class, with both the theory of breathing and lots of practical exercises in the water. I would actually recommend this class for anyone who wants to learn how to breathe better, not just surfers.

Did my PADI Open Water certification course with Hawaii Eco Divers last weekend, and it was totally epic! Julian was a great instructor. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about diving. You can tell he really enjoys sharing what he does, and his energy made the whole course way more fun and relaxed. He gave us a ton of great info and feedback throughout the course while also managing to show us to some sick dive spots! Everything was well organized which made the learning experience feel intuitive and easy. Couldn’t recommend them more! I’ll definitely be back for some more of the advanced courses. Huge thanks to Julian and everyone else who runs the shop! He was also taking photos of us and pointing out wildlife the whole time!!
