I can't begin to express how great my experience was with GoDiveMEX and how much I enjoyed studying and diving with Emoke and Federico. If you want a really dedicated, focused, and diligent teacher, Emoke is the right choice. She is patient and empathetic and will remind you to be kind to yourself when you struggle with something. If you want some really memorable fun dives in cenotes after your training is done, Federico is amazing. Every aspect of this experience was spot-on because every staff member at GoDiveMEX is a quality person. Emoke, Federico, Fran, and Judit are working hard doing what they love and the resulting vibe is spectacular. You can stay right beside GoDiveMEX at Hotel Angelo's for $39 per night plus tax (four nights was $202 including tax) and it's a good option that includes breakfast. Also as soon as they see you in the morning at GoDiveMEX they will offer you coffee and that is a game-changer. Nothing goes with diving like caffeine!!!! I did the performance diver course and got a provisional pass; I wasn't able to get my buoyancy or back kicks within required parameters. I can come back to finish with Emoke to earn my full pass or I can do it with a different GUE instructor closer to home if I choose. Rest assured that this isn't the typical recreational scuba course where you pay your money and get the card regardless of your skills proficiency. That's why I came to GUE- I want to dive really well. I don't need the guaranteed pat on the back! I've only been diving five months and I had 27 dives when I started the two-day training with Emoke so I am very pleased with my progress with her. Another thing that I didn't need was the hard-core, drill instructor type GUE training. Emoke never sugar-coats anything and tells you like it is, but she has a gentle approach and is easy-going. GoDiveMEX will give you a full 10 out of 10 experience- I'm sure of it.

We had an exceptional 9 days diving with the team at GoDiveMex and highly recommend it to anyone coming to Playa to advance their skills or just enjoy the really special diving here. First, I did my GUE Tech Fundies with co-owner and GUE instructor, Emőke. She is a legend - extremely patient, focused, engaged, caring, and committed to the high standard that gives GUE its name! She was encouraging, practical, and supportive, all while holding the bar high and giving honest feedback along the way on where and how to improve. As a both a diver and instructor, Emőke = Life Goals! This training unlocked a new level for me and staying an extra week to let it “sink in” and really apply what I had learned was invaluable. My husband did AOW and Nitrox with Fedé, and then we did four days of fun diving with him. On the last day, we had two deep dives and on the way to the cenote, Fedé casually used that as a opportunity for my husband to practice the dive planning he learned in the AOW deep dives. I appreciated that practical reinforcement and refresher - it shows artful instruction and how much he cared about the training! Fedé was super fun to dive with, great safety standards, gave solid briefings so you knew exactly what to expect, was a great diver, and we just enjoyed hanging out with him and chatting! Fran and Martín, co-owners, were both communicative, welcoming, friendly, and engaged in our having a great experience. I got my first taste of cavern diving and fell in love with it! Now I’m obsessed with coming back for cave training and more diving with Go Dive Mex! There are always lots of options of who you can dive and train with, but the best is when you can dive with top tier divers, quality and caring instructirs, and just nice and welcoming people!
