Freediving Coron

‏I don’t usually write reviews, but there’s no way I could skip sharing the experience we had here. ‏I wanted my girlfriend to take a freediving course, so I checked several places. From the very first messages and conversations, it was clear to me that this was the place where someone would truly take care of her — both professionally and personally. ‏We met Cat, the instructor, and instantly felt like friends. He is incredibly patient, explains everything clearly and thoroughly, and is a true professional. He also gives the best advice you could ask for — from where to dive away from the crowds to the best places to eat in Coron. Truly an amazing person. ‏So if you’re looking for a freediving course, training, or a professional freediving experience, this is the place — especially with this guy. Highly recommended!

Do yourself a favour and book here!! Had the most amazing experience taking the beginner freedive course with Cat! First of all, it’s the best price you’ll find for a freediving course in Coron. This is because the course is based on a private resort meaning less boat expenses for them, and this saving is passed on to us (thanks!). The location is absolutely stunning and serene, making it the perfect setting to learn with minimal distractions. Much better than going with a bigger group in tourist locations. Cat is a truly amazing teacher, he explains everything in a clear way that makes sense for both new and advanced divers, and you feel relaxed in the water from the start. He only takes groups of 3 at a time, meaning he can give constructive feedback tailored to you specifically after every dive, which allows progression to happen quickly. Also an added bonus, you can stay all day and have free roam to kayaks, SUPs, water scooters, snorkels, sunbeds and restaurant - all right next to the famous lagoon. Cannot recommend highly enough, if you are doubting booking for any reason, don’t, just do it! (Also make sure to book the right one, there is another shop in Coron with the same name). Cat is the owner and teacher and will reply to you directly. Already planning my return 💙🧜‍♀️

Couldn’t recommend Cat’s freediving school more for anyone interested in freediving. It was the highlight of my trip to the Philippines. Cat was incredibly accommodating from the start. I had to reschedule last minute and it wasn’t an issue at all. On top of that, I then had a last-minute flight cancellation and delay, which meant I missed the boat, but they arranged another boat to come and collect me directly from Coron town. That level of care really set the tone for the whole experience. Arriving at Paolyn houseboats felt very special, I can’t think of a better place to hold a course. The staff are lovely and the food after diving was delicious and went down so well after a couple of hours in the water. Before getting in the water, everything was explained so clearly and thoroughly. We talked through common mistakes and the science behind the techniques. That understanding made a huge difference! I felt confident and very comfortable with Cat as our teacher which allowed me to really enjoy the dives. The coral was beautiful, we kayaked around the lagoon, and after the course went for some extra “fun” dives. I came away with some amazing videos and a strong desire to keep freediving and learn more. I hope to be back soon!
