Freediving Coron...where to start? I was and am always apprehensive of group learning situations. Paula patiently and thoughtfully answered all of my questions and concerns, helping me understand exactly what the course entailed etc. Once enrolled with my travel partner we were carefully instructed and had any further questions answered. Daniel was our instructor and wow did he do an amazing job. He has enthusiasm that most others would have lost after 9 years of teaching, the patience of a monk and a pleasantly sharp wit. He taught with confidence and offered insightful tips as well as positive affirmation when you performed well. I was able to learn so much with no pressure to perform beyond any expectations of the course which led to great personal growth and a new confidence in freediving. If anyone is on the fence about diving with Paula, Daniel and the rest of the team at Freediving Coron let me assure you that they offer a top notch experience. I haven't even touched on the boat crew and their professionalism and skill. They were so very polite, offering help to passengers when boarding and disembarking, had a kind sense of humor and exuded confidence in plying their trade on the water. When I am ever back in Coron I will without a doubt dive with the team at Freediving Coron and the Barracuda Club for Freedivers.

If you’re looking for a freediving spot where people truly love what they do, this is the right place. Paula and Daniel are amazing instructors. They make you feel safe, comfortable, and confident in the water while keeping everything fun and easy to understand. You can really feel how much they care. Such a great experience, highly recommend 😊

This was such an amazing experience to learn from Freediving Coron! First off, as soon as you land, there will be someone from every tricycle, corner, and desk asking if you have a tour. Could you do a public tour? Sure. But if you really want to experience the coron’s ocean beauty, I recommend learning to freeedive with Paula. While it is on the $$ side, it was worth every penny. I was the only diver in my group, but Paula really worked with us, making sure we had all the gear to really enjoy our time in Coron: Glass boat, mermaid fin, life vests for the snorkelers. Our master diver, Abner, was also very accommodating and patient with our shameless pictorials for IG 🤣 My sister really had him holding the glass boat in place to get that perfect shot. Abner also got some great underwater shots for my line training and underwater adventure with the fish and coral! Additionally, Paula kept us updated on weather conditions. Overall, the weather is nice (even with rain on our expedition); however, our plans to search for dugongs and the shipwrecks were foiled the following day d/t weather conditions. If you’re staying for more than one day, make sure you prioritize those locations. Other “tours” will offer boat and gear, but not the assurance that you’ll make it to those destinations safely or the likelihood of actually seeing dugongs.. while Freediving Coron is in touch with their captains and weather conditions for safe, fun, and worthwhile diving. Food was also delicious and cooked right on the boat. My mom was craving crabs, and while it wasn’t crab season, Paula really pulled through with our request for FRESH CRABS. This was also my third ever dive and reached 19.6 meters ! Highly recommend asking their intro to freediving course, or take an into/course prior to coming to really enjoy! I took the PFI course in LA and got pool certified, reaching 10m open water… the took a Wave 1 Molchanov course in Mabini, Batangas just 1 week prior, where I reached 14 meters. Overall, such a fun experience for my family and I, divers and non divers alike. You won’t regret booking with freediving coron!
