Freedive Gili Trawangan

Little arrogant attitude for the Freedive coach. walked in enquiring about the service and told me I can do whatever I want, and using technical terms for “training” and “coaching”, after I enquired to train with them to learn. And told me it’s up to me to wear a wet suit or not, although I told him I am visiting here and not sure if it’s required for the local temp. I am beginner level and Chris the instructor said I should know this despite I told him it’s been more than 6 months I had dived. Understand the sport is about ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for people to train, this place has failed to do so . I decided to not join them.

Best freediving school in the world!! I learned to freedive here in 2016 and returned in 2022 to stay for a few months and do the one month Master Program. The coaches Mike and Veronika are truly an incredible wealth of knowledge. They were both just so generous with their time and you could tell they really truly care about their students. The water was beautiful with amazing visibility (like 30m +) and overall I just loved the vibe of the island, lots of good food and the community was amazing. I did some volunteering with the turtle research group so we saw lots of baby turtles hatching which was so special!

My wife and I just completed SSI Level 1 Certification. Absolutely fantastic experience! Josh was an incredibly patient and confidence-inspiring instructor, sticking with us until we finally made the grade. We had a great time in and out of the water, learnt new skills and made some lovely new friends along the way. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the world of freediving!
