I recently completed my Open Water course with Expedition Dive and overall had a good experience, especially once the diving started. Before arriving in Australia, communication was quite spotty. Responses to emails were often delayed, and in one case I didn’t hear back for over a month despite following up. As someone traveling from abroad, this was stressful since I was trying to make sure everything was in order. Improving responsiveness, especially for international students, would make a big difference. That said, Jason was a great instructor — firm, supportive, and very calming even though we had terrible visibility during our open water dives. He made us feel safe and confident, and I left feeling very comfortable diving. One thing to note: shallow water training takes place at the beach, not in a pool ( Frenchman’s Beach ). Overall, a solid course with strong instruction and Jason is great!

Jason was an amazing divemaster and dive buddy. I got in touch with Expedition via their website to do some shore during my visit to Sydney and Jason promptly called me to suggest dive sites and packages. He was upfront with all the costs and what each dive entailed, which put me at ease to book a visit to Bare Island. During the dive, Jason was helpful, friendly and an amazing guide. I loved it so much I decided to dive again with Expedition to The Leap and The Steps for another incredible experience. I recommend Expedition dive to anyone wanting a friendly, knowledgeable and helpful dive guide in Sydney - also with the best Vietnamese food recommendations!

Had an incredible dive with Jason! Visibility was fantastic that day and the whole experience felt effortless. Jason was super knowledgeable and passionate — you can really tell he loves showing people the “real down under.” I planned one dive but ended up doing two dives at different spots! And I’m glad I did. We saw so many of Sydney’s amazing underwater locals — from schools of fish weaving through the kelps and the famous curious blue grouper. I didn’t realise until the dive that this area is part of the Great Southern Reef system — absolutely stunning and underrated! Would definitely recommend Expedition Dive to anyone visiting Sydney or even locals wanting to explore what’s beneath the surface. Thanks again Jason for a safe, fun, and memorable dive and for the amazing photos, can’t wait to come back for another one! 🌊🤿
