What a gift East Cape Explorers gave my husband and me when we visited San Jose del Cabo in late February 2026! We spent a beautiful afternoon with Gaya and Captain Angel and we saw several whales on our outing. First we spent time with a …

What an awesome dive shop full of great guides and people! Barry and Angel took us out to Chileno, which was like swimming in a beautiful aquarium! The water was crystal clear at the time and fish and stingray were abundant. Barry was a great guide and very patient and friendly. Photos are from the dive (11/16/25). Water was nice and warm (around 78). Fully recommend! Update: went diving with this outfit again (1/21/26) and it was awesome. Our dive guide, Max, gives some of the best pre-dive briefings I’ve ever heard and is very thorough, which I really appreciate as a new diver. Made me feel safe and in good hands. The water was a bit colder this time (74 degrees) but still very comfortable in a 5mm wetsuit. The Zacatitos Shipwreck was pretty awesome to see.

Me and my hubby had a great time diving Gordo Banks with the East Cape Explorers guys! Booking process was straightforward and great comms over WhatsApp answering any questions we had. The shop takes safety seriously, including a very thorough briefing for the dives, which helped calm any nerves I had. Shout out to James, Max and captain Alex for delivering at Gordo with a school of hammerheads and some on surface whale sightings, and a shout out to our guide James for pointing out the cool macro life on our local pre check dives and captain Juan for the smooth boat ride! Thanks guys! Would definitely recommend the ECE team for your dives! One tip is that google/Uber seem to direct to the wrong location - make sure to request the actual street names ahead of time to help find the shop!
