Had a 7 day Dive trip on Micke Ball expedition, Featuring the Dwarf Minke Whales. Boat: excellent and extremely well set up for diving expedition. Crew: The crew were exceptional - very professional. June - the chef turned out amazing meals and is an absolute gem. The set up for encountering the Dwarf Minke Whales and with Dr Naomi Gardiner from JCU we all engaged in the project to gather more info on the whales - was well run. Negatives: The trip was split so that divers came and left in middle of the week. With 29 divers this was by far the largest number of divers on any live-aboard I have been on. For me there were too many people in the water and this detracted from the diving experience and the ability to even get to know all the divers. First live- aboard I have been on where we were not grouped with a Dive Master or Instructor. As a result I never knew who my dive buddy would be. I joined the guide when available. While the focus was on learning about and discussing Minke Whales I was surprised by the lack of discussion on critters we saw on the reef and the paucity of reference material available.

Steve at Dive in Australia did a brilliant job in coordinating my diving in the Gold Coast. He knows the local operations and certainly got me on the best boat for the best charters! Thanks Steve - I'll be back in touch next time I need to sort a diving trip in Australia.
