While she was forgiving of my rookie mistakes, she was remarkably strict when it came to safety protocols and rescue drills—it was through her that I truly grasped the weight of the word 'Buddy.' Beyond the skills, what moved me most was their deep-rooted respect for the sea. From day one, the message was clear: protecting marine life is a diver's core duty. A huge shoutout to the owner—a charming Finnish hunk who is as professional as he is fun. He kept the energy high even during the long boat rides. I chose Darling Divers based on their glowing reviews for a refresher course, and they did not disappoint! My refresher session with Ari was easily the best I’ve had in years; we covered all the basics and then some, leaving me feeling completely prepared. Following that, I spent two days diving with Katri, who is incredibly knowledgeable and has a natural talent for making you feel comfortable underwater.
