Have stayed with Cocotinos once in Manado and twice in Lembeh. Love the resort - it's nice and cosy, and service from staff is top notch. - Rooms: Spacious, cosy and clean. Even the toilet/shower is spacious! Housekeeping comes into to clean and change the towels everyday as well. Nothing better than coming back to a nice room to rest in between dives. - Diving: The dive guides here are fantastic and experienced. They're expert macro spotters and know how to help you set up your shot. Perfect for macro lovers and photographers!! Can't wait to visit again!

This is a small and simple dive lodge. The guests are here pretty much solely for that purpose. The lodge comprises a narrow brick and mortar building which runs through from the back street to the sea front. The majority of the rooms are side facing and situated along the corridor which runs from front to back of the building and although they do have an external terrace, the terraces are effectively inside, because they are under the roof of the main building...so they are covered. Only room no's 1 & 2 (which are next to the swimming pool) have external terraces and a view of the Lembeh Strait. Regarding the rooms at the rear, some other reviews mention noise and I do agree that from those rooms you would be able to hear the locals playing their music, as they do like an outdoor speaker in N.Sulawesi. There are also a couple of churches opposite which get going early in the morning. Our room was nearer the front of the lodge, so with earplugs it didn't trouble us. I personally think that the standard and facilities at this hotel were better than the 2* it holds. The premises and room were immaculately clean and the staff were tidy/ well presented in their matching uniforms and extremely pleasant/ helpful. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome snack, drink and briefing about the lodge facilities. The room had a bathroom with shower, toiletries, safe, air con and ceiling fan, complimentary water, fridge, hairdryer, plenty of hanging space and a comfortable bed. The included breakfast was simple but adequate and in the afternoon complimentary tea, coffee and a biscuit were available. The lodge has a restaurant on site, which is pricey by the rest of Sulawesi's standards, but I guess they have a captive audience, so they can. There is nowhere else to eat in this remote corner Lembeh. It's just a residential area behind the lodge and the only food you will find there is biscuits, crisps, cakes, beer and noodle pots in the x2 small local shops in the street behind. The lodge also features a swimming pool, small garden and sun loungers. You can access the sea and snorkel directly from the lodge. Remember to bring your own mask and snorkel. Also a rash vest is helpful to protect against stinging plankton and any jellyfish. There is an abundance of coral and sea life immediately from the shore line. The only criticism I would have is that the beach in front of the lodge was filthy. ..covered in rubbish and plastic bottles. Unfortunately it all washes up there from the nearby town and the rubbish is relentless, but I think the lodge should ask their gardener if he can make regular checks and clean up the shore area to improve the guest experience. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
