Bunaken Divers Seabreeze Resort

We had an amazing stay at Seabreeze Resort. The diving courses with Terry was better than we could imagine. The food and service was perfect. Thanks to all the staff, it was really amazing

Host Terry is a super friendly and communicative host. We contacted him well in advance by email and were able to clarify many questions in advance. On arrival, he met us personally at the harbor and took us to bunaken by boat. On site, he explained everything to us and was always communicative and available to answer our questions. All the other staff were super friendly and helpful. Accommodation These are simple bungalows and compared to some of the pictures, they are indeed a bit outdated. However, in our opinion they are still perfectly fine. After all, you don't want to spend most of your time in your room. The bathroom is very basic and certainly not up to western standards. The temperature of the shower cannot be adjusted and is either warm or “fresh” depending on the time of day, but certainly not cold. At the moment the desalination plant in bunaken is defective, so a 30m deep well is tapped in the accommodation, which is very slightly salty, but otherwise absolutely clear. Food The food is local, traditional and always freshly prepared. Mostly it was very tasty, some things tasted mediocre to us personally, in general we would like more fruit. We therefore ordered a second plate of fruit at every meal. Diving The diving is well organized, the school is right there with a boat and good and friendly guides. There is water, cookies and fruit on the boat. We were helped and supported in getting dressed, climbing up etc. The reefs themselves are beautiful, lots of fish through the national park, especially breathtaking night dives. Location The property is very pristine and idyllic. You shouldn't expect a glossy garden. We found it very beautiful and suitable. There is no beach for relaxing here, only a beach near the diving school, which is under water depending on the tide. Misc/ room for improvement -Information about when, with whom and which spots are dived. Unfortunately, the whiteboard was not used for this and would probably have made it easier. All information could be ask for but it was kinda annoying to disturb terry all the time. -Cleanliness as already mentioned here and there. It could be cleaner overall. Both initially in the rooms and in the restaurant. -As a vegetarian you get an alternative to chicken/fish, but there was usually just an omelette. There was delicious tofu 1-2 times, we would have liked to have had it more often. -The price for the accommodation is relatively high, but okay, but it is also difficult to compare, as bunaken is a small island and therefore certainly a little more expensive. The costs for diving and everything else, on the other hand, are super fair. -Nitrox is currently not available, but to be honest it is not absolutely necessary given the depths you reach. -Unfortunately, a dive site that we had been looking forward to was spontaneously changed in the morning because snorkelers joined us. So we had to choose a spot that was suitable for both. In general, we think the accommodation is more worthwhile for diving, for snorkeling there are certainly better alternatives with better access to snorkeling instead of always being dependent on the boat. Overall, we felt very comfortable during the week. Even if there are some points of criticism, we think the ratings of 1-2 stars here are clearly too negative. If we travel to North Sulawesi again, we could certainly imagine a second stay.

Absolutely loved our stay here. My sister and I decided to stay here for three nights and try out diving for the first time. We had an astonishing amount of fun here. The staff and guides were accommodating, professional while also very personable. If you want to try diving they will make it an amazing experience for you. My sister was a little nervous and the diving guide really made the difference making it a comfortable adventures experience. All meals are included. We ended up hanging out with everyone at each meal because the place makes you feel like family. Food was good and the beer cold. Rooms are cute. No AC or hot water but the air temp at night wasn’t an issue for sleeping. And the water temp is perfectly cool and refreshing for not having AC. We didn’t mind the no AC because it was comfortable enough and gave it more of a natural vibe that went well with a day if diving.
