Beyond 1 Bar Scuba Diving

Anto Steele is an excellent diver, a superb detail-oriented instructor, and a lovely man. Anto was my instructor through Rescue Diver and my full Divemaster course (taken as a customer-focused *course* in my case, not a be-the-dive-shop-skivvy-internship) in 2023 and he is in large part responsible for my love of diving and the fact that, nearly three years later, I've barely had a day out of the water and I'm now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer myself. He is absolutely fastidious about PADI standards and ensuring that his students not only follow instructions but understand why they are being asked to do things. He understands the science behind diving as well as any instructor I've met, and can comfortably discuss the effects of the moon on the tides or the effects of water pressure on nitrogen absorption. To this day I am still using gear secured to bolt-snaps with knots he tied in May 2023, and teaching my own students using phrases and tips he taught me. He is patient, articulate, an extremely clear communicator, and genuinely passionate about marine biodiversity and the preservation of the underwater world. And in addition to being an excellent diver and dive instructor he is a genuinely decent, hardworking, compassionate man. I would happily and heartily encourage anyone to dive with him, learn from him, or work with him.

Anto surely got the skills of being a great diver buddy and instructor: he’s professional, conscientious, attentive and patience. I was certified AOW diver and had 20 dives in total before I met Anto. The plan was to only have fun dives to gain more experience in diving and improve my buoyancy. At first dive he noticed what I am trying to improve; he made an effort on teaching me and be patient with me until such time that I am all good to dive and explore. It was fun and quite memorable; he showed me some tricks and taught me his own way of ascending. He gave me his two cents about what to buy for SD equipment and was very helpful and detail-oriented! I will surely come back and dive more with him. 🤿
