Beach Bums Borneo (Jesselton Point Jetty/South Jetty)

We asked about the weather and it was said at the main counter it was going to be okay. We also asked which Island would be best for snorkelling. So we went to Mamutik Island. We only saw brown water and no fish in the parts where we could snorkel. Other people there informed us that you could only see fish outside of the markings, but that you had to book a guide then. The water was nice and warm tho and the people were very kind. The boatride was also fun. Just would have been nice if we had been informed honestly

Do not recommend this company. All companies offer the same, but with Beach Bums you spend a lot of time waiting, they give you wrong times to be back on the jetty and then you wait. If you have only one hour on a island but then spend half an hour waiting for the boat it does make a difference which company you take. The worst was, when they cancelled our return at 3pm completely just smiling it away, but other people from the group were given a ride back on other boats.

Staff was very pushy. However, the price as per the photo attached. Senior citizen will have a cheaper price. Tourists please be extra careful of price hike! I am local. Price included the life vest on boat but not on the Island. If you wish to snorkel on the Island then you can rent the life jacket on the Island RM10/pcs. Somehow the boat schedule is not on time always. Buffer a little more time for the delay! They depart as early as 830pm and go back to town around 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Bring your own snorkeling equipments! And, book the boat 1 day earlier. They have single or multiple Island hoping. Sapi, Manukan, Mamutik and Gaya Island. Manukan are crowded but biggest Island among 4 of these. Sapi is small but water is clear. I went to Sapi Island only. Town to Island take approximately 15 minutes - 20 minutes. Enjoy!
