Wonderful time at Froggies Lembeh. The food was delicious with lots of local entrees and local fruits and veggies. We saw so many incredible things while diving Lembeh. The guides go out of their way to show you anything you might want to see. I can’t wait to get back there.

We did a few dives with this shop and were able to see a variety of macro marine life, which was the main reason we came here. While the dives met our basic expectations in terms of sightings, we wouldn’t describe the experience as amazing or exceptional. What was truly disappointing and frankly unacceptable was the behavior of our dive leader. On multiple occasions, we witnessed them using a pointer stick to prod into the sand beneath octopuses, stargazers, and scorpionfish in order to force them out of their hiding spots. This was not a one-off incident, but something that happened repeatedly. Such behavior is a clear violation of interacting with marine life and shows a lack of respect for the ocean and its creatures. Harassing marine life for the sake of entertainment or photo opportunities is completely unprofessional and goes against responsible diving standards. Unfortunately, we couldn’t recommend this five center as this was the worst behavior we’ve ever seen from a dive leader in all our diving experience.

★★☆☆☆ – Great view, but otherwise very disappointing The staff was consistently friendly, but service was often inattentive – for example, in the restaurant we sat for two hours without drinks. Throughout the hotel there are prominently placed rat traps, which is anything but inviting. Our freshly renovated room felt cold and carelessly decorated. Despite the renovation, much of it was old and worn. The seat cushions are made of old, sticky faux leather, which also leaves a poor impression. The food is okay but far from great – heavily European-influenced with very little local touch. The breakfast buffet was limited to a few jams, eggs, and fruit. What I found particularly unacceptable was the hotel’s no-cash policy: paying in cash is not possible at all, and if you pay by credit card you have to accept an additional 2.5% surcharge – a practice I find absolutely unjustified. The only real highlight is the beautiful infinity pool on a small hill with a view of the sea. Unfortunately, the negative aspects clearly outweigh the positives, so we can only give two stars.
