Bali Reef Divers Tulamben

Had a lot of fun diving with Bali Reef Divers in Tulamben, we were staying at their resort in Amed but went to Tulamben to do our wreck specialty. Darta was our instructor and was very professional but also fun to dive with! Would definitely recommend dropping by if you’re looking to dive the awesome wrecks in Tulamben.

Overall great experience. Got open water and advance open water certified here with Darta, an amazing instructor. He made sure that I felt both safe and comfortable throughout the entire process, while also making the experience fun. The hotel itself is nice, with staff being friendly and helpful. Only downside is location, not near anything of note except dive sites.

I stayed and dived with Bali Reef Divers Tulamben for four nights and had an amazing experience. I went for a private room which was spacious and really comfortable, with a sofa, fridge, a very comfy bed and a desk that was ideal for going through my photos in the evening. The pool was right outside, which made it a really relaxed setup between dives. I only had breakfast on the last morning, simply because I don’t usually eat before a morning dive, but it was freshly prepared and a great start to the day. The evening meals were a real highlight, with plenty of choice, everything cooked to a very high standard, and friendly, welcoming service. My favourite was the Indonesian Yellow curry, which was absolutely delicious, especially when followed by a banana split. After a full day of diving, it was such a pleasure to relax and enjoy a great meal and a cold Bintang at the on-site restaurant each night. The diving itself was fantastic. The equipment was well looked after and everything ran smoothly. A big highlight for me was diving with Oddo. Over three days and eleven dives he found the tiniest critters, from nudibranchs to pygmy seahorses, and gave me brilliant tips for improving my underwater photography. His knowledge, patience and sharp eye made every dive special. From the Liberty wreck to the black sand macro sites, every dive was memorable. The whole team at Bali Reef Divers were welcoming, professional and friendly, and I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for a complete dive and stay experience in Tulamben. I’ll definitely be back.
