Did a three-tank dive excursion with this charter. It was myself and my wife and two other tourists. So we were a team of two divers with a dive master along with two other individual divers with their own dive master. The staff were very friendly and accomodating as we were between hotels, so they let us bring suitcases on the dive boat and even went out of their way and dropped us off on a beach close to our new hotel on an island at the end of the day, which saved us two ferry rides and a lot of lost time. The care of divers on the boat was really impressive and the dive masters seemed very skilled and accomodating, taking videos and pictures of our dive, later sending us the photos which was greatly appreciated. The boat ride over however, from Sanur to Nusa Penida was nerve-racking as we encountered some of the biggest seas I have ever been in, in a small dive boat, and ai am a military search and rescue diver. 3-4 meter seas with breaking waves all around us was alarming, but the boat driver handled the boat well. At times we were surrounded by walls of water, but again, the boat driver was very skilled. It was a little shocking to be out in those conditions though. Once at our locationand in calmer water, we did three dives and the dive staff were great showing us stuff and taking care of all the divers. I will say that the boat did not stay close to divers and each time we surfaced, we had to wait about 4-5 minutes for the boat to find us. Twice, the DM had to yell at other boats to radio our boat to come get us. On our third dive, which was supposed to be a drift dive, there was a lack of awareness by the dive staff of which way the current was going on the bottom and we ended up swimming against strong current for 15 minutes until the dive master abandoned the dive. Once on the surface, the boat had traveled a long way away, thinking we would surface much farther away with the drift. This caused us to wait a long time on the surface, drifting further away from the boat as the current was in the opposite direction. I've never seen a dive charter boat seperate itself so far from divers and not send a DM down to confirm the current prior to a drift dive. It made for a miserable dive. Once on the surface, we spent a long time looking for the second pair of divers and their dive masters as their seemed to be a lot of confusion. Luckily all four divers (three teams) were young and fit and could sustain the exertion of a hard swim against current. This would of been a different story with less fit or older divers. It seemed that a plan was made, assuming current was going in a certain direction and the boat departed the area to where the driver thought we would surface, so the DMs had no choice but to now continue in that direction once under water. It was a miserbale dive, kicking for 15 minutes but only moving a couple dozen feet along the bottom. Having to yell to other boats on the surface to find our boat and then having to search for our second dive party seemed very unprofessional. Nice boat, great staff who were friendly and accomadating with lunch provided but I was left feeling that a mishap was not far off with this charter. I'm an avid diver both as a civilian and in the military, so am comfortable in most circumstances, but my wife, who is mostly a winter resort diver was very uncomfortable and kept asking me if what we were experiencing was normal. I had to admit that it was not, as usually a drift dive is WITH the current, the dive boat knows where its divers are, and sea state is known ahead of time. Although the staff were friendly and extremely accomodating, the dive boat was very nice with food and beverages provided, I'm glad I had experience in my back pocket to be able to distinguish between what was normal and what was unusual. I've used dozens of dive charters in my life in areas all over the world, and I have to admit I left this dive day a little alarmed and frustrated. Their customer service was however what saved it for me but I would likely not use this dive charter again.

Thx to Diving with Jim who recommended the Bali Legends dive Center. It was easy to get in contact through WhatsApp and plan our trip together. After getting picked up at the Hotel we met our dive instructor Ramon, got our gear and the took a boat to Nusa Penida. Although this dive site is very busy with many snorklers and divers Ramon guided us calmly and hopefully to see mantas. But its nature, no mantas, instead we saw turtles and beautiful corals. The next dive site was SD point, seeing a few frogfish, turtles, pufferfish and at the end getting surprised by a Manta. On the boat we got a delicious balinese lunch, drinks and sweets were offered the whole day. After our third dive site at Mangrove Lembongan enjoying the healthy colorful corals we returned to the dive shop and got driven back to our Hotel. Thx Ketut and Ramon for presenting us your beautiful underwater world around Sanur and making this day unforgettable for us. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the dive shop.

We had an amazing diving day! Ketut guided us so well and truly spoiled us throughout the trip. The boat was beautiful, the snacks and meal were delicious, and the people on board were wonderful. We did three incredible dives around Lembongan, each one more stunning than the last. This dive school is an absolute gem — it deserves a solid 10 out of 10 from us! Thank you for such a fantastic day and great company. We’d love to come back again someday.
