My husband and I had an unforgettable experience with BaCo on opening day of the whale shark season. We were a bit concerned that, since it was the start of the season, we might not see many whale sharks, but thankfully, we were wrong! Our guide, Christian, was exceptional—his knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip even more special. Before we went out on the water, he gave us an educational "presentation" about whale sharks and what to expect during our swim. It really added to the experience and made us appreciate the encounter even more. Swimming with whale sharks does come with many restrictions, including how many boats are allowed out at once, so we felt incredibly fortunate that Christian and the team worked hard to ensure our group had the best possible experience. As a nice bonus, Christian shared the videos with us that he took during our encounter with the whale sharks.

We had an incredible experience with this tour company. Cristian was a fantastic guide, energetic, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the whale sharks even after guiding for 10 years. His enthusiasm felt real and truly loving of these creatures. Captain José was also very friendly and professional, and we always felt safe in their hands. The weather was beautiful, and we were able to get very close to the whale sharks while still feeling safe and completely mesmerized. Even without an underwater camera (so I don’t have photos!), the experience was unforgettable. We had multiple opportunities to dip into the water, which allowed us to see both the front and the back of the whale shark, truly breathtaking. Balandra Beach was absolutely worth it. It was the perfect place to relax after an early wake-up: pristine, peaceful, and stunningly beautiful. During the snorkeling portions, we also saw sea lions and bright, colorful fish, which made the experience even richer.
