We stayed at Ocean Sports Hotel (where Aqua Ventures are based) for the last few days of an amazing Kenya experience. Both my wife and I have PADI and BSAC qualifications, but have not dived for more than 13 years. We really wanted to introduce our children (aged 11 and 13) to the joys of diving, so on the recommendation of others (and the Lonely Planet guide) we booked a Discover Scuba Experience for the whole family with Steve and Helen. This turned out to be one of the best decisions of our holiday! We did a theory session and pool dive one afternoon and then dived on the Watamu inner reef the next morning from one of Aqua Ventures well-kept and comfy dive boats, using their well-maintained modern kit. Our dive instructor/guide, Arnold, could not have been better with the kids. He kept the pace calm and steady and helped them relax by distracting them with the massive abundance of sealife (including Green and Hawksbill Turtles!) and his chilled manner. As parents we felt super comfy with Arnold looking after the kids and it allowed us to enjoy our dive and refresh our basic skills. We all loved it so much that Steve offered us a good price for 2 more dives the next day on the outer reef, which we jumped at. Overall, these dives just cemented our determination to get the kids PADI Open Water qualified as soon as possible! We would all thoroughly recommend Aqua Ventures - we truly believe you will not find a more friendly and professional dive centre in Watamu or possibly Kenya. Whether you are new to diving or a seasoned PADI or BSAC professional, travelling solo or with family, dive with Aqua Ventures - you will not be disappointed!
