I was looking for a free diving course in the Galapagos ilands as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. I discovered Apnea Galapagos online and sent them a message with some questions about the course. Jesse - the most amazing guide and manneger answered all my questions with a lot of patience and kindness. During the course Jesse made us feel as comfortable and calm as you could possibly be while holding your breath underwater, and taught us everything we needed to freedive safely. It was really importent for him that we enjoy the Galapagos view during the course, so he scheduled the course according to the tides in order to have better visibility in the water. At the end of the two-days course I couldn't complete the requirements to get sertified and Jesse offered to finish the course on another day. In addition to being the most awsome guide, Jesse gave us recommendations for tours around the islands and helped us book some of the tours. We had a really good time, learned a lot and were able to see the wonderful Galapagos wildlife during the course. If you want to become a freediver, Apnea Galapagos is the best place to learn!
We had SUCH a good time with Jesse the past week. He has a really relaxed way of explaining the process and knows a lot about the island and the wildlife there. In the water he is very focussed and omproved some of my techniques through …
I did my research in advance and found Jesse months before my trip to Galapagos, and decided to do two days of scuba diving & 3 days of free diving (PADI Advanced course) with him. The whole experience was very amazing - During free diving, Jesse really help pushed my limit and trained my BTV, with all the practices with exhale dives, on the third day I was able to reach 37 meters through free immersion. During the open water free diving trips, I saw sharks and rays around, feels very different from scuba, 100% recommend! During scuba diving, i saw groups and groups of hammerhead sharks during the dives (which is why I go visit Galapagos), thanks to Jonathan, and tons of white tip sharks, groups of rays, huge turtles, etc. The dive shop provides great breakfast, amazing snacks between two dives, and lunch boxes after all the dives of the day. Everybody is extremely friendly and easy to talk to. If you are not doing liveaboard in Galapagos for scuba diving, I highly recommend this shop!
