Very good snorkeling (along the rocky end and the central rock). Good place for lunch at a beach or evening drink.

Best out of the 3 Anse d’arlet. Water is most clear, around the rock you find the best place for snorkeling, plenty of fish, sea stars. The town is very picturesque too.

Great beach for hanging out, was not too crowded most days when we went, there are several food and drink vendors on the beach. This post is my beach snorkel guide. Immediately off shore right in front are a few rocks where the tour boats drop off and the novice snorkelers swarm, kind of like a tourist soup. The fish are quite tame, used to being fed, and will swim right up to you. Great for the casual snorkeler, can see everything in calm and not to deep water - go early to avoid the crowds there were times during the day with more than 100 people swimming around one little reef. For the more adventurous walk to the far north end of the beach and kick straight out along the shore, get bast the first rock outcropping to see good reef and fish, get past the second outcropping, which is about 350-400 meters, to be in more adventurous conditions, a couple hundred meters beyond that where the scuba boats anchor. Its a ways out but for strong swimmers and adventurous snorkelers it is way better, don't see many people, but abundant sea life and reef and fish. I kicked all the way out at high speed and then a leisurely pace back in which is moderately against the current. One included picture marks the area I went several times and some of the views while there.
