this is an SDI dive centre. it's true what other reviews say; the equipment is a little wonky. just like many of the other dive centres in SE Asia, the crew will set up your equipment for you. but, as a diver, it is your responsibility to check that everything is in good order before it even goes on the boat. i checked mine and it was all good. if you are skeptical about the equipment or the practices, it is perfectly reasonable to go elsewhere. please prioritise your safety! my only complain was that the mask reeks of cigarettes, but that's on me because i didn't bring my mask with me. organisation is a little messy and boat is a little crammed but everything works. i got to go to pescador island, about 20 minutes away from the dive shop, and it was beautiful. i paid 1300 php for one boat dive, which is on the cheaper end. i wouldn't recommend this dive centre for beginners as it is unstructured (i.e. everyone goes by vibes) but if you are more experienced and are looking to do a fun dive, go ahead!

Me and my girlfriend got our open water 20 certification a week ago in Thailand, this experience was amazing and the instructors there were so knowledgeable and safety orientated. We decided to try our first dive (as licensed divers) in Moalboal at Amo Diving, our first impressions were not good, our boat to get to Pescador island was nearly 2 hours late. (Maybe not the dive shops fault, but the organiser who we booked through lacked communication) the staff at the dive shop weren’t the friendliest. Finally after departing on the boat, we arrived at the island. Had a VERY short briefing, explaining the direction we would be diving, and some basic hand signals (ascend, descend, ok etc.) gear was all set up for us, the date of the hydro test was not shown on most cylinders, one said 2013, (these legally have to be serviced every 5 years) our dive master said they’re serviced yearly but not stamped, which seems suspicious. Regardless we geared up - probably not the smartest thing to do! They were trying to get us to jump off the boat before completing our buddy checks, of course we carried on. There were small leaks coming from the first stage regulator and the BCD. Nothing Major. Our dive master was good and understood my difficulty equalising, and therefore we didn’t descend much further, he was knowledgable of the dive site and pointed out cool marine life. Overall, not the best dive shop, staff could’ve been friendlier and more interactive, gear was old and maybe not serviced as regularly as it should be - Not ideal for nervous beginners

Good dive center in terms of diving and good treatment. I was alone in the boat with 1 divemaster in the two dives I did (pescador and dolphin). However, the center and equipment is old, but they have scubapro as bcd and apeks as reg so not bad at all. I recomend it but check everything before diving.
